Frequently asked questions: Google Ads

11 questions about Google Ads that we hear a lot, with a short and honest answer.

How much budget do I need for Google Ads?

For a local service provider 300 to 600 euros per month is often a good start. It depends on what a click costs in your field. The calculator gives you a suggestion based on your industry.

What does a click cost in Google Ads?

That differs per keyword. In most local industries you pay between 1 and 5 euros. With a lot of competition, like for heat pumps, it can be more.

Why is my Google Ads not bringing in anything?

Often you pay for keywords that don't fit you. Or you don't measure what a request brings in. A landing page without a clear button also costs you customers. In the free scan we look at where it leaks.

Can I stop if it doesn't work?

Yes. After three months we look at the results together. Is it not bringing in anything? Then we tell you honestly and we stop.

What do you do in my Google Ads every month?

We exclude search terms that cost money without bringing customers. We test ad texts and move budget to what works. You see in your logbook what every euro brought in.

What is a search terms report?

An overview of what people really typed before they clicked on your ad. In it you often find search terms that don't fit you. We exclude those.

What is Performance Max?

A campaign type where Google itself chooses where your ad appears. In search results, on YouTube, in Maps and on other sites. It works well if your tracking is right. Without good tracking Google is guessing.

Do I pay the ad budget to you?

No. You pay the ad budget directly to Google. We only charge for the management. So you see exactly what goes to ads.

How do I know my budget isn't being burned?

Our office watches every big change in your account. Does the budget go up more than 10 percent per week without approval? Then you get an alert right away.

What is a conversion in Google Ads?

An action that matters to you, like a phone call or a filled in form. If you measure your conversions Google can aim your budget at people who become customers.

Should I advertise on my own company name?

Often that is smart and cheap. Otherwise a competitor can advertise above your name. A click on your own name usually costs only a few cents.
