What are pretty ugly ads?
Pretty ugly ads are simple ads that don't look like advertising. A short video made with your phone, you on camera, simply at work. On Facebook and Instagram they often work better than a polished photo.
People scroll past anything that looks like an ad. A normal video of a real person stands out, because it looks like a post from someone you know.
It doesn't have to be pretty. It has to be real: who you are, what you do and why. A job from start to finish, a customer question you answer or a mistake you often see.
The first seconds count most. Start with something your customer recognises. Then say briefly what you do and what they can do now.
Real-life example
A painter films a window frame before and after in thirty seconds. No music or editing. Just him explaining what he did.
