What is a negative keyword?
A negative keyword is a word for which your ad must not show. That way you do not pay for clicks that bring nothing.
Think of words like free, jobs or DIY. People who search for those rarely become customers.
You find good negative keywords in the search terms report. It shows what people really searched for before they clicked.
Check that report every month. That way your budget keeps going to the right people.
Real-life example
A painter saw many clicks on "painter jobs". He excluded the word jobs. That saved him over 80 euros a month.
