What is promotion mode?

Short answer

Promotion mode is a temporary setting in Google Ads for a sale period of 3 to 14 days. Google can then spend more to make the most of the peak.

During a sale more people search and they are easier to convince. A normal campaign is slow to react to that.

With promotion mode you give Google more room in budget and target for a while. After the sale everything goes back to normal.

The feature is still being tested. Only use it if your tracking is set up properly.

Real-life example

A webshop turned on promotion mode for Black Friday. The campaign got more room that week and then went back to its old level by itself.
