What is the Conversions API?
The Conversions API sends conversions from your own server to Meta. It is an extra line next to the Meta pixel.
The pixel works in the visitor's browser. Ad blockers and strict browsers sometimes block it. Then Meta misses conversions.
The Conversions API sends the same information through your server. That way more conversions arrive correctly.
The cookie banner applies here too. You only pass on data from people who gave consent.
Real-life example
A webshop saw only half of its real orders in Meta. After connecting the Conversions API the numbers were almost right again. As a result the ads got better.
