What is zero-click search?
With zero-click search someone already finds the answer in Google and no longer clicks through to a website.
Google more and more often shows the answer itself: in an AI summary, a map or your Business Profile. As a result fewer visitors come to websites.
Research by Pew Research showed that people click about half as often when there is an AI summary.
That makes your Google Business Profile and your name in AI answers more important. That is where the choice is made more and more often.
Real-life example
A customer looks up the opening hours of a bakery. He sees them right away in Google and does not click through. If they are wrong in the Business Profile he ends up at a closed door.
