What is CPM?
Short answer
CPM stands for cost per mille. It is what you pay to show your ad a thousand times.
You often see CPM in Meta. It tells you how expensive it is to reach your audience.
CPM goes up when many businesses want to reach the same people. That is why advertising costs more around the holidays.
A low CPM is only good if it also brings results. So always look at what a lead or a sale costs.
Real-life example
A charity paid a CPM of €12 in December and €5 in February. It now plans its big campaign outside the busy months.
