What is the ANBI disclosure duty?
An ANBI must put certain details online for everyone to see. This is the disclosure duty. It lets donors and the Dutch Tax Administration see who you are, what you do and what you do with the money.
ANBI stands for algemeen nut beogende instelling. It is the Dutch status for a registered charity. With this status donors may deduct their gift from their taxes. The Dutch Tax Administration does set conditions. One of them is that your details are online.
This must be on it: the name of your foundation, your RSIN, your contact details and your goal. Also the main points of your policy plan, the roles and names of your board members and your pay policy. And a report of your activities and your financial accounts for the last financial year.
You put the details online within 6 months after the end of your financial year. Large ANBIs use a standard form from the Dutch Tax Administration for this. That applies if you raise funds and have more than 50,000 euros in income. Or if you do not raise funds and spend more than 100,000 euros. Smaller ANBIs may also use the form.
The details must be on their own fixed web address. That may also be a platform or a public Facebook page. Still, a page of your own on your site works best, for example /anbi. Put the link in the footer of every page. Then donors can always find it.
A few exceptions apply to church bodies. For example, they do not have to name their board members. Not sure what applies to your foundation? Check the ANBI desk of the Dutch Tax Administration or ask your accountant.

Real-life example
Say a food aid foundation puts its ANBI details in an annual report as a PDF, deep in the site. A donor looks for them and cannot find them. A page /anbi with all the details and a link in the footer solves that.
